CNN reported:
"Bitcoins are now worth nearly as much as an ounce of gold. The price of one bitcoin rose as high as $1,242 early Friday, just two days after crossing $1,000 for the first time. Prices subsequently fell back to about $1,155. Meanwhile, gold prices were trading around $1,250 an ounce, down about 25% for the year."
It seems that Bitcoin investment demand is on the rise. One bitcoin was worth about $13 USD back in January. But, a closer Bitcoin market analysis also identifies some volatile movements.
The question is:
Will it become a legitimate global currency?
Also, there is the argument that government regulation could lead to a wider use of bitcoin currency. But, on the other hand, others argue that government should not interfere as bitcoin is decentralized by design.
